  • On the Track: Sprinter George Erazo's NCAA Championship Diary - 5-20

    George Erazo of the St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Track & Field team is in Allendale, Michigan for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Erazo will be sharing his experiences in a daily diary starting today. George races on Thursday in Heat 1 of the 400m dash which is scheduled to begin at 5:40 PM ET.
  • Lady Spartan Runners Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Track & Field Team has been awarded All-Academic status by the USTFCCCA. With a team GPA of 3.5, the Lady Spartans earned this honor for the third consecutive year.
  • Mike Abelard Named All-Region in 100 Meter Dash

    Senior sprinter, Mike Abelard, ended his career the way it started...with a USTFCCCA All Region Award in the 100 meters. He currently holds school records in the 55 meter, 60 meter, 100 meter, 200 meter (Indoor and Outdoor), 4x100 meter and the 4x400 meter races.

    The Men's Track and Field Team was ranked 10th in the region again this week. Senior Mike Abelard is ranked 5th in the region in the 100m. Junior George Erazo is ranked 6th in the region in the 400m.
  • Spartan Track & Field Crowned ECC Co-Champions

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Track & Field team have been named the 2013 East Coast Conference Co-Champions. The Spartans tied with Queens College with a final team score of 165 to earn their first Outdoor Track & Field conference title since becoming a NCAA DII member.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field team took the track at Penn Relays to take on top-notch collegiate competitors. While the men have run at the event over the past few seasons, this marked the first year the women competed.
  • Michael Galonski Named ECC Runner of the Week

    St. Thomas Aquinas junior Michael Galonski has been named the East Coast Conference Track Alete of the week for his 1st place finish in the 3000m steeplechase. He set a new personal record of 9:50.44 which is good for a fourth place ranking in the East Region.

    The latest ECC On Campus focuses on St. Thomas Aquinas College. A member of the conference since 2000, the Spartans athletic department has developed a reputation as one of the most active of all ECC schools in their local community.
  • Galonski Sets PR at CTC Championships

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field team competed at the Collegiate Track Conference Championship at Geogian Court University in Lakewood, NJ. Junior Mike Galonski took 1st place in the Steeplechase while setting a new personal record of 9:50.40.
  • Garvenchy Nicolas Garners ECC Runner of the Week Honors

    Senior mid-distance runner Garvenchy Nicolas has been named the East Coast Conference Track Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Rider Invitational. Nicolas took 2nd place in the 800 meter in a time of 1:55.73, setting a new personal record.
  • Spartans Move up to 9th in East Region

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Track & Field team moved up in the rankings this week to number 9 in the region. This follows two consecutive weeks in th #10 spot. Senior Mike Abelard is ranked 3rd in the region in the 100m.
  • STAC Track First DII Finisher at Rider Invite

    The Spartan Men's Track & Field team took 5th overall at the Rider Invitational but only Rider, Sacred Heart, Rutgers and Monmouth finished ahead of them. George Erazo won the 400 in a time of 48.52. Keeley Bateman and Allison Borriello took 7th and 8th in the 800m.

    In the second week of the Regional Rankings the Spartan Men's Track team is ranked 10th in the East Region. The 4x100 team of Rich Ricca, Mike Abelard, Frankie Colon, and George Erazo are ranked number 1 in the Region.

    Junior George Erazo Garners Track Athlete of the Week accolades for the second time in four weeks. At the Roadrunner Invitational, he took 2nd in the 400m in a time of 48.95 and 6th in the 200m with a time of 22.74. Anchored by Erazo, the 4x100 team of Rich Ricca, Mike Abelard and Frankie Colon set a new school record with a time of 42.78.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Track & Field Team is ranked 9th in the East Region in week one of the USTFCCCA polls for the Outdoor Season. Six Spartans and a relay team are ranked in individuals in nine different events.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College XC/Track & Field team will be hosting a March Madness Wing Night on Saturday March 6th from 7PM-10PM in the McNelis Commons Dining Hall. The cost is $20 per person for a night filled with all-you-can-eat wings and great basketball. Please support the XC/T&F team!
  • Joseph Capolino Named ECC Outdoor Track Runner of the Week

    Freshman Joseph Capolino has been tabbed East Coast Conference Runner of the Week. At the Manhattanville Quad Meet he took 1st place in the 1500 meters in a time of 4:30. Thie is the first time he has recieved this honor.
  • Spartans Dominate at Manhattanville Quad Meet

    The Spartan Track & Field team had a strong showing at the Manhattanville Quad Meet taking 1st Place in every event they competed in. Doug Miller won the shot put with a throw of 34ft. 1 in. Freshman Joseph Capolino was the winner of the 1500 in 4:30 and Meagan Jaskot won the 1500 in 5:15.
  • Geroge Erazo Named ECC Runner of the Week

    Junior George Erazo was named East Coast Conference Runner of the Week for week 1 of the Outdoor season. Erazo anchored the 4 x 100 relay team of Rich Ricca, Mike Abelard, and Frankie Colon to a new school record time of 42.82 and also won the 400 at the VCU Invite with a time of 48.47.

    The Spartan Track and Field Team competed in their first outdoor meet of the season at the Virginia Commonwealth University Invite in Richmond, Virginia. The men's 4x100 relay team of Rich Ricca, Mike Abelard, Frankie Colon, and George Erazo opened up the season with a new school record in a time of 42.82 finishing in 6th place.
  • George Erazo Named ECC Indoor Track Athlete of the Year

    Junior George Erazo was named the ECC Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. Erazo, a three-time ECC Athlete of the Week, was one of the top runners in the East Region and all of Division II in the 400 meters this year. Erazo ranked No. 26 in Division II and second in the East Region with a 400 meter run time of 48.37 seconds.
  • Abelard and Erazo Named to Indoor Track & Field All-Region Team

    Senior Mike Abelard and junior George Erazo were named All-Region by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region’s top three have earned the All-Region distinction for this season.
  • Track & Field Finishes Season at 10th in East Region

    In the final Regional Ranking for the Indoor season the Spartan men finished at 10th overall in the East while the women finished in 15th. Senior Mike Abelard was 2nd in the 60m and 5th in for the 200m. Junior George Erazo finished 2nd in the region in the 400m.
  • Men's Track Finishes 2nd at ECC Indoor Championship, Women Take 6th

    The Spartan Track & Field program competed at the East Coast Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday at St. Anthony's High School in Huntington, NY. The Men's team finished just four points behind Molloy College earning a second place finish overall. Nineteen members of the team earned All-Conference Honors.
  • Abelard and Oswald Named ECC Track Athletes of the Week

    Senior Mike Abelard has been named the Track Athlete of the Week while sophomore Ed Oswald was named Field Athlete of the Week by the East Coast Conference.
  • Times Drop at Molloy Invitational

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field program competed at the Molloy College Invitational after a two week hiatus. Senior Mike Abelard ran the 200 meters and won the event with a time of 22.67 as well as taking 2nd in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.90. Freshman Meagan Jaskot took 3rd in the mile with a time of 5:33.61.
  • Track & Field Holds 10th Spot in East Region

    In week 4 of the regional rankings, the Spartan men's team position did not change after an idle week due to the weather. The Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championship originally scheduled for Saturday was cancelled following the snow.
  • Spartan Track Ranked 10th in Region

    In week 3 of the USTFCCCA regional rankings, the St. Thomas Aquinas men's track team dropped to 10th in the East. Senior Mike Abelard holds his spots at 2nd in the 60m and 5th in the 200m. The Lady Spartans are currently ranked 14th with their DMR team of Keeley Bateman, Gabriela Sloezen, Rebecca Fortoul, and Meagan Jaskot in 2nd.
  • Erazo Tabbed ECC Track Athlete of the Week

    Junior sprinter, George Erazo has been named the East Coast Conference Track Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week. Erazo posted his second fastest time (48.69) of the season in the 400m at the Armory in NYC.
