Junior George Erazo, a three-time ECC Athlete of the Week, was
one of the top runners in the East Region and all of Division II in
the 400 meters this year. Erazo ranked No. 26 in Division II and
second in the East Region with a 400 meter run time of 48.37
seconds.He also won the conference championship in the 400 as well
as the 4 x 400 meter and 4 x 200 meter relays. Erazo, who also
placed second in the conference championship meet in the 200 meter
dash, had Top-Five finishes at the Gotham Cup, NYU Team Challenge,
Army Cromwell Cup, and the Molloy College Invitational.
The Men's Most Outstanding Athlete of the ECC Championship meet
went to Mike Abelard of St. Thomas Aquinas. Abelard earned the
honor after taking home first place in both the 60 and 200 meter
dashes and was also a part of the winning 4 x 200 meter relay
squad.
In addition, the ECC also announces the first ever All-Conference finishers from the championship meet. The top two finishers in each event were named First Team All-Conference, while the third and fourth place finishers earned Second Team All-Conference distinction.
