The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Track & Field Team is ranked 9th in the East Region in week one of the USTFCCCA polls for the Outdoor Season. Six Spartans and a relay team are ranked in individuals in nine different events.
Senior Mike Abelard is currently ranked 2nd in the region in the 100 and 7th in the 200. Junior George Erazo is ranked 2nd in the region in the 400 and 3rd in the 200. Rich Ricca is ranked 8th in the region in the 100 meters. Mike Galonski is ranked 3rd in the region in the 3000 meter steeplechase and sophomore Ed Oswald is ranked 7th in the region in the High Jump. The 4x100 relay of Ricca, Abelard, Frankie Colon and Erazo have the top spot in the region in a time of 42.82 in the relay. Freshman Meagan Jaskot is ranked 5th in the region in the 5000 meters.
The Spartans next compete Saturday at Ramapo College. That same night the Spartans will be hosting a wing night in the Cafeteria starting at 7 P.M.
