Galonski Sets PR at CTC Championships

The St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field team competed at the Collegiate Track Conference Championship at Geogian Court University in Lakewood, NJ.  Junior Mike Galonski took 1st place in the Steeplechase while setting a new personal record of 9:50.40.

Junior George Erazo won the 400m in a time of 48.44. Senior Mike Abelard took 5th in the 10m0 in a time of 11.54 and classmate Garvenchy Nicolas took 4th in the 800m in a time of 1:56.79. The men's squad finishe 10th overall.

On the women's side junior Allison Borriello took 5th overall in the 800m in a time of 2:24.33. Junior Keeley Bateman took 4th overall in the 1500m clocking a time of 5:08.18. The 4x400 relay of Borriello, Bateman, Rebecca Fortoul, and Gabriela Sloezen took 3rd overall in the 4x400m in 4:14.82 which is their top time of the season. The women finished 13th overall which is the best finish at the CTC Championship to date.

The Spartans are headed into a busy stretch with the women heading to Penn Relays on Thursday, followed by the men on Friday. On both Saturday and Sunday the Spartan's will compete at the East Coast Conference Championships which will be held at Farmingdale State on Saturday and then at Queens College on Sunday.
