  • Spartan Track & Field Garners All-Academic Team Honors

    The USTFCCCA has announced that the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Track & Field Team has been named a 2012 All-Academic Team. The men's squad held a GPA of 3.02 for the 2011-12 academic year under first year head coach, Lorne Marcus.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's track & field team were named to the 2012 USTFCCCA All Academic Team. The Lady Spartans had a team GPA of 3.25 for the 2011-2012 Academic Year, under the helm of head coach, Lorne Marcus.
  • Galonski Earns All-Region Honors, Spartans Ranked 10th

    Sophomore Michael Galonski was named to the USTFCCCA All-Region team in the 3000m Steeplechase. His time of 9:24.35 was good for 5th in the East Region. The Spartan squad finished out the year ranked 10th in the region.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College Track & Field team will be competing this Thursday and Friday at the very prestigious Penn Relays meet. Penn Relays brings together the best college teams and high school teams from around the country.

    Four members of the St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Track & Field team made history today as they set a new school record in the 4x400 in their first ever appearance at Penn Relays. Keeley Bateman, Catherine Sandkuhl, Ashley Stokkeland and Chelsea Klinger recorded a time of 4:14.82.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Track & Field Team finished in 2nd place in the Collegiate Track Conference Championship this weekend at DeSales University. Two men and four women were named to the CTC All-Conference 1st team.
  • Abelard Leads Point Scoring at Rider Invitational

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Track team competed at the Rider Invitational in Lawrenceville, NJ on Saturday. The men's team finished 1st out of the DII competitors and 6th overall, while the women took 11th. The Spartans were lead by junior Mike Abelard who scored 18 points with a 1st place win in the 100 meters in 10.91 and a 2nd place bid in the 200m in a time of 22.14.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field Team had another successful day in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania Invitational. Sophomore George Erazo continiued to add to his phenomenal season taking first place overall in the 400m.

    For the first time in program history both the St. Thomas Aquinas College men's and women's Track & Field squads are simultaneously ranked in the East Region in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA DII Poll. This is the women's teams first ever appearance in the ranking during the outdoor season.

    On Friday, the St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Track & Field Tetam took on six opponents at the Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ. Freshman Kaitlyn Mancini hit two new personal bests in running 13.00 in the 100 meter finals which took 5th overall and 26.96 in the 200 that took 7th overall.

    Sophomores Keeley Bateman and George Erazo broke their own school records on Saturday as the St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field Team competed at the Monmouth Invitational. Bateman ran a 4:59.44 in the 1500m while Erazo finished the 400m in 48.05.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field squad jumped out to a fast start at the Dr. Jack M Toms Invitation​al in Lynchburg, Va. Sophomore Geroge Erazo broke the STAC record in the 400m while four other Spartans ran personal bests.
  • Klinger and Abelard Named to Indoor Track All-Region Team

    Senior Chelsea Klinger and Junior Mike Abelard have been named to the USTFCCCA NCAA DII All-East Region Team. Klinger is the first Indoor All-Region recipient for the Lady Spartans. Abelard is a repeat winner after receiving the award in both the indoor and outdoor seasons last year.

    In the last USTFCCCA Division II Regional Ranking of the Indoor Track Season the Spartan Men's Track & Field Team finished 9th in the East region while the Lady Spartans finished 15th.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field runners competed at the Last Chance Meet at the Armory in NYC on Thursday. Sophomore George Erazo took 3rd overall in the 400m with a time of 48.65. Junior Mike Abelard ran a 22.67 finishing 11th overall in the 200m.

    With this week's rankings the Spartan Men's Track team dropped one spot in the region to number 9 in the East Region.On the Men's National Ranking Mike Abelard and George Erazo both kept the Spartans ranked in the country at number 69 by remaining nationally ranked in the 200m and 400m respectively.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Track & Field Team dropped one spot to number 8 in the East Region in the USTFCCCA poll released today. Junior Mike Abelard is currently ranked 24th in the country in the 200 meter dash. Sophomore George Erazo is currently ranked 20th in the country in the 400 meter dash.
  • Men's Track & Field Finishes 4th at CTC Championship, Eight Earn All-Conference Honors

    The Spartans competed this weekend at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships with the Men finishing 4th out of over 20 teams, missing 3rd place by 1 point. The women finished in 13th. Eight runners received All-Conference Awards for their performances.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Track and Field team has been ranked 7th in the East Region for the second consecutive week. The Spartans ranking can be credited to the strong performances of Mike Abelard who is ranked 19th in the country in the 200m and George Erazo who is ranked 18th in the country in the 400m.

    Sophomores George Erazo and Keeley Bateman ran solid races against the likes of top competition such as LSU and Mississippi State, . Erazo won his heat in a 49.15 finishing 15th overall in the 400m. Bateman ran 2:23.00 in the 800m.

    In today's NCAA Regional Poll, the St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Track team climbed up two spots in the East Region to number 7. Mike Abelard and George Erazo still hold spots in the national ranking in their events while the men are represented in 7 events in the regional rankings. The Lady Spartans are ranked 15th in the region.

    The Spartans competed this past weekend at Boston University and continued their recent trend of setting new STAC records along with personal bests. Sophomore George Erazo led the way moving up to 15th in the nation in DII in the 400m with a time of 48.65.

    According to the first NCAA Division II poll released today by the USTFCCCA, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Track and Field team is ranked 9th in the East Region. Two runners hold national rankings in their respective events while six are listed regionally. The Lady Spartans are currently 13th with three runners gaining regional recognition.

    The Spartans competed at The Great Dane Classic this Friday at The New Balance Center in NYC. Sophomore Keeley Bateman, ran a new personal best as well as a new school record in the 800 with a time of 2:20.52 which claimed her 20th overall in a field of some of the best runners in the country.

    The Spartan Runners competed at the Gotham Cup on Friday at the New Balance Track & Field Center. Sophomore Keeley Bateman broke her own record in the 1000m with a time of 303.98. Sophomore George Erazo bettered his national qualifying time in the 400m running a time of 48.80.
  • Spartan Runners Thrive at Metro Invitational

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Track & Field team had a phenomenal day at the Metro Invitational. Sophomore George Erazo provisionally qualified for Division II Nationals in the 400 with a time of 48.83. This is a new college personal best for Erazo who finished 3rd overall in the contest and 1st among all collegiate competitors.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Track & Field Team was led by freshman Catherine Sandkuhl at this weekend's Harvard Open in Boston, MA. Sandkuhl set a new school record in the 400 with a time of 101.22.
  • Spartan Runners Compete at St. John's Bill Ward Invitational

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's Track & Field team competed on Thursday night in the St. Johns Bill Ward Invitational at St. Anthony's High School. Sophomore George Erazo won the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.74 and also came in 7th in the 200 with a time of 23.26.
  • Spartans Excel at CTC Relay Carnival

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College Track & Field program competed at Yale on Sunday. The men's team was led by performances by junior Rich Ricca who took second in the 60 in a time of 7.23. The Lady Spartans day was highlighted by a 2nd place DMR finish and a 3rd place Sprint Medley finish.
