On Friday, the St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Track & Field Tetam took on six opponents at the Georgian Court University Invitational in Lakewood, NJ. Freshman Kaitlyn Mancini hit two new personal bests in running 13.00 in the 100 meter finals which took 5th overall and 26.96 in the 200 that took 7th overall.
Freshmen Catherine Sandkuhl and Ashley Stokkeland both ran the 400m where Sandkuhl took 2nd overall in a time of 61.95 and Stokkeland took 4th with a time of 64.05. In the 800, Keeley Bateman was 2nd overall with a time of 2:24.74. In the 1500, Sarah Callagy and Chelsea Klinger took 6th and 7th as Callagy ran 5:16.06 and Klinger ran 5:20.42.
Other notable performances include Katelyn Garvey and Lisa Brevogel taking 1st and 2nd in the 5000 meters. Ashley Weintraub also hit a new school record in the steeplechase with her first place finish in a time of 12:57.34.
The Lady Spartans will be return to action on Saturday April 7th at the Penn Invite.
