    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost to Dowling, 6-0 and 4-1. Joy Ferriello scored the Lady Spartans solo run reaching on a fielders choice with bases loaded. Megan Sweezy, Sharis Ruiz, Heather Clausen and Caitlin Sherrier each had hits for STAC.
  • Lady Spartans Split with Mavericks

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team split with Mercy College on Friday afternoon dropping game one, 7-0 before picking up a 3-1 win in game two. In the win, Megan Sweezy was 2-for-3 with a 2 run home run in the second inning. Maura Power held the Mavericks to 1 run, striking out 5 batters in 7 innings.
  • Lady Spartans Split with Knights

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team split with Queens College; dropping the first game 3-0 before picking up a 4-0 win. Megan Sweezy hit a three run home run followed by a solo homer in game two to lead STAC to a 4-0 victory in game two.
  • Lions Shutout Lady Spartans, 5-0 & 9-0

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team fell to Molloy College, 5-0 & 9-0 in Tuesday's double header. The game represented senior day for STAC's five seniors; Alyssa Cataldo, Kayla Cornish, Joy Ferriello, Kelsey George and Caitlin Sherrier. Cataldo, George and Devin Meikle each had a hit for STAC against the Lions.
  • Lady Spartans Edge Purple Knights, 3-2

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team beat Bridgeport, 3-2 in the first game and ended game two in a 1-1 tie, suspended due to darkness. Michelle Sasso hit an RBI single in the 13th to score the game winning run for STAC.
  • Power Named ECC Pitcher of the Week

    St. Thomas Aquinas women's softball player Maura Power was named the ECC Pitcher of the Week. Power pitched back to back shutouts this week giving up 5 hits in 15 innings and striking out 10 batters as she went 2-0 this week. Power also added the game winning RBI with her double in the 8th to lift STAC to a 1-0 win over Mercy.
  • Pioneers Overpower Lady Spartans, 9-0 and 7-1

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's softball team lost to C.W. Post 9-0 and 7-1 in today's double header. Megan Sweezy hit a solo homerun in game two to put the Lady Spartans on the scoreboard. Alyssa Cataldo went 2-for-3 in game two for STAC.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team dropped a 5-4 game to Mercy before edging the Mavericks, 1-0. Joy Ferriello hit a home run in game one to tie the game. Maura Power picked up the win on the mound in game two.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team beat NYIT 9-8 and 2-0. Sharis Ruiz went 4-for-7 with 2 runs and an RBI while Joy Ferriello went 4-for-8 with a run and a RBI. Maura Power pitched a shutout in game two giving up a single hit.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost to Dowling College, 11-1 and 5-2. Heather Clausen went 3-for-5 with an RBI. Megan Sweezy scored the Spartans two runs in game two with a 2-run home run in the 7th.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost at Molloy, 1-0 & 8-0. The Lady Spartans went 12 scoreless innings in game one before Katie Kraus hit a bases loaded RBI single to win the game for Molloy.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost at Queens, 6-1 & 9-3. Heather Clausen went 3-for-6 with a run and a RBI for STAC. The Lady Spartans were limited to just two hits in the first game. Jamie McCormick went 2-for-3 in game two.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team beat NYIT 11-2 and 9-6 in today's ECC games. Joy Ferriello went 3-for-4 with 2 runs and 5 RBI in game one. Sharis Ruiz also went 3-for-4 with 3 runs and 2 RBI.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost at Philadelphia University, 12-3 and 5-4 this afternoon. Heather Clausen went 3-for-7 for the day with 2 RBI and a homerun. Sharis Ruiz went 2-for-5 for the day with 2 RBI and a run.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team opened the 2011 season in Clermont, FL last week. The Lady Spartans went 4-4 for the week. Junior Heather Clausen led STAC with 10 hits, including 3 doules and 4 RBI. Maura Power went 3-2 on the mound and Rosie Coyne earned 3 saves.
  • Three Lady Spartans Named NFCA Scholar-Athletes

    St. Thomas Aquinas softball players Heather Clausen, Michelle Sasso and Samantha Welsh were named to the 2009-2010 Girls Got Game/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar Athlete List. The Lady Spartan softball team was ranked 55th in Division II with a team GPA of 3.135.
