The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team dropped a 5-4 game to Mercy before edging the Mavericks, 1-0.  Joy Ferriello hit a home run in game one to tie the game.  Maura Power picked up the win on the mound in game two.

Ferriello's homer in the 6th tied the game 4-4 for the Lady Spartans.  However, Mercy was able to score a run in the 7th and hold on for the win.  STAC scored 3 runs in the 3rd highlighted by a RBI triple from Power. 

In game two, Power added a game winning RBI double in the 8th to score Kayla Cornish.  Cornish pinch ran for Alyssa Cataldo who walked in her at bat.  Power struck out 5 batters in the shutout. 

The Lady Spartans are scheduled to play C.W. Post on Sunday for a home double header.
