  • Spartans Finish Season Falling to Purple Knights

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team concluded its season at the University of Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon. STAC fell 6-1 in the opening game and 9-5 in game two. Erin McCarthy hit an RBI double in game one to give STAC its lone run in the 7th.
  • Mercy Tops Spartans; Pagnani Honored for Senior Day

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost to Mercy College, 2-1 and 5-3. Senior Colleen Pagnani went 1-for-2 scoring STAC's lone run in game one. Pagnani was honored in a brief pre-game ceremony for all of her hard work and dedication to the Spartan softball team.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost at NYIT on Sunday afternoon, 5-3 and 4-1. The Spartans had 11 hits in game one and left 7 runners stranded. In the second game, McDonald's RBI sac fly to score Nevola gave the Spartans a 1-0 lead in the 3rd.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team dropped to LIU Post, 5-1 and 8-3 on Saturday afternoon. In game one, Samantha McDonald went 1-for-4 and scored the Spartans lone run. Brittany Malloy went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI in the second game of the day. Kim Nowak and Nicolette Nevola each had two hits for the game.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team beat Dowling College, 7-1 & 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon. Samantha McDonald was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI in game one a hit a 2-run home run in game two. Erin McCarthy was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Julie Sosnicki earned the win on the mound with 5 strike outs while going 2-for-1 with 2 RBI.
  • Spartans Split with Lions, Winning Game Two, 7-3

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team picked up a 7-3 win over Molloy College on Sunday afternoon. Samantha McDonald's lead off home run sparked the Spartan offense which scored runs in 5 out of 6 innings. Brittany Mangan went 4-for-7 for the day with a run and 4 RBI highlighted by a 3RBI triple in game one, driving in all three of STAC's runs.
  • Knights Top Spartans, 7-1 and 10-2

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost at Queens College, 7-1 and 10-2 on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans got their only run for game one off an RBI single from Danielle DiModugno scoring Samantha McDonald. Brittany Mangan went 3-for-4 and the Spartans left nine stranded.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost to Bridgeport University on Wednesday afternoon, 13-4 and 6-2. Samantha McDonald went 2-for-6 with 3 runs. Erin McCarthy went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI in game one while Brittany Malloy went 2-for-2 in game two hitting two RBI singles.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team split with Mercy College on Saturday afternoon. STAC won 9-7 in the first game putting together 17 hits. In game two, the Spartans fell 8-4 leaving 6 stranded.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost to NYIT, 5-3 and 8-7 on Thursday afternoon. Samantha McDonald went 4-for-8 with 4 runs and an RBI while Colleen Pagnani went 3-for-7 with 2 runs. Erin McCarthy went 2-for-4 with a 2 RBI double and an RBI single.
  • Late Rally Lifts Spartans Over Rams

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team beat Philadelphia University, 5-4 and 8-0. Briana Emanuele's 3 run home run in the 5th lifted the Spartans over the Rams. Samantha McDonald hit a 3 run homer in game two to keep the scoring going for the Spartans.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost to LIU Post, 5-1 on Tuesday afternoon. Brittany Malloy's home run in the first gave STAC their only for the game. Malloy went 2-for-2 for the game. The Spartans had 5 hits and left 8 stranded. Kim Nowak picked up the loss on the mound.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost at Molloy College, 28-2 and 12-4 on Saturday afternoon. Erin McCarthy's 2-run home run highlighted game one. In game two a solo home run by Brittany Malloy and a 3 run homer by Danielle DiModugno put all the runs on the board for STAC.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team beat Nyack College, 3-1 and 11-1 on Thursday afternoon. Nikolette Nevola hit a solo homer run in the 6th to give STAC the lead in game one. Nevola went 4-for-5 for the day with 3 runs and 2 RBI. Julie Sosnicki and Kim Nowak each picked up a win on the mound.
  • Spartans Pick Up ECC Win Over Queens

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team beat Queens College, 12-9 in the first ECC game of the 2015 season. Samantha McDonald went 3-for-4 with 3 runs and an RBI for STAC while Brittany Malloy went 3-for-4 scoring 2 runs. McDonald got the Spartans on the scoreboard early with a lead off home run in the first inning.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's softball team beat AIC, 7-5 on Tuesday afternoon. STAC fell to West Virginia Wesleyan, 4-1 and in their double header with Rollins, 10-0, 9-1. Julie Sosnicki picked up her 2nd win on the mound with 5 strike outs.
  • Spartans Split on Opening Day, Sosnicki Pitches No Hitter

    The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team picked up their first win of the 2015 season as Julie Sosnicki pitched a no hitter in their 5-1 win over Bentley. Brittany Malloy and Colleen Pagnani each hit an RBI single to highlight a 5 run 4th inning for STAC in the win. The Spartans dropped a 6-0 game to Florida Tech earlier in the day.
  • Spartans Fall to Wayne St. and Southwest Minnesota St.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas struggled in their second day of action dropping 12-1 to Wayne St. (Neb.) and 11-4 to Southwest Minnesota St. Kim Nowak's 2 RBI double in the 3rd inning highlighted the game for the Spartans scoring Brittany Mangan and Samantha McDonald.
  • Lady Spartans Host November Clinic

    The St. Thomas Aquinas women's softball team will host a softball clinic for girls ages 13-18 at Torne Valley Sports Complex on November 8th. The clinic will run from 11-2 pm and will cost $80.00.
