Spartans Climb to Sixteenth on Day Two of NCAA Super Regionals, as Ocasio Continues To Excel

Johnstown, Pa. - St. Thomas Aquinas College Golfer Diego Ocasio climbed into top-ten status on the links Friday by shooting a 70 to finish his second round at even par and sit tied for seventh among individual players at 2-over par for the tournament, following day two of the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Super Regional at the Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

As a team, the Spartans shot 291 (+11) on the day to move up three spots to No. 16 on the leaderboard, with a two-day total of 598 (+38).

STAC will tee off on Saturday, May 9th beginning at 8:20 a.m., as the tournament enters its final day of competition and an Atlantic/East Super Regional Champion is crowned.

The top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals May 18-22 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada. The finals will be hosted by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
