Women's Bowling Places Fourth At Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Tournament

Staten Island, N.Y - Picking up where they left off in November, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Bowling team kicked off competition in 2025 on Saturday at the Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Tournament, which was held at Rab's Country Lanes on Staten Island.

Competing in a 25-game baker event, the Spartans battled the College of Staten Island, Long Island University, Molloy University, Monmouth University in a tournament that requires a different approach from traditional individual bowling, as each player takes turns and contributes to the overall score, which makes teamwork and consistency critical. STAC placed fourth in the tourney with a total pinfall of 3,283.

STAC stood unified, with each member of the squad contributing toward the momentum of each match. Freshman Lily Schommer made a huge impact on the day, as she hit key spares in pivotal frames during just her second tournament with the team.

St. Thomas Aquinas is back in action on Saturday and Sunday, February 1 & 2 at the Chestnut Hill College Griffin Baker Classic. The two-day event will be held at Bowlero Deptford in Deptford, New Jersey.
