Skaggs' Final-Round 77 Concludes NCAA D2 Golf Championship

Palm Beach, Fla. - St. Thomas Aquinas College golfer Nolan Skaggs shot a 77 in the final round of the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championship at the PGA National Resort in Florida. Skaggs shot three-over par on the front nine and then two-over on the back nine to put him at five-over par for the day. The Senior from Plymouth, Mass. wrapped up his finals appearance tied for 48th place on leaderboard, with three other collegiate competitors, at +6 overall after 54 holes of stroke play.

Skaggs began his final day of competition by shooting par on his first four holes (1-4), before bogeying on holes five, six and seven to go three-over par. Nolan recovered on the remainder of the front nine with par scores on eight and nine.

Fortunately, Skaggs would start his back nine play, with a birdie on ten to cut his deficit to two-over par. However, another bogey on hole twelve would push the disadvantage back to three-over. A range of emotions would then come on holes fourteen through sixteen, as the STAC senior would birdie, double bogey and bogey to put his score at five-over par with two holes to play. Skaggs would shoot par on seventeen and eighteen to conclude his day at +5.
