Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Field Hockey team dropped a 9-1 decision to No. 4 nationally ranked East Stroudsburg University on Monday afternoon at Spartan Field.
STAC falls to 3-6 on the season, while ESU improves to 9-2 on the year.
Emma Friend recorded a pair of goals on the afternoon, while teammates Rylie McGrath, Megan Rafter, Puck de Ruiter, Maddie Moline, Minke Klijn, Elaiana Rivera-Lagalla and Kylie Moore each picked up goals for the visitors from the Keystone State. Both Warriors goalkeepers saw action in the contest, with Sydney Pope (W, 7-0) getting the start and turning aside 1 of 2 shots faced in the first half. Jet Vermeulen played a scoreless second half, while not facing a shot on goal.
Meanwhile, Brianna Cote netted the Spartans lone goal off of feed by teammate Morgan VanDover. Ailsa Ogilvie (L, 3-5) got her eighth straight start in the cage for STAC and stopped 16 of 25 shots fired her way.
