Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Field Hockey team suffered its third straight shutout defeat, a 4-0 conference loss to Adelphi University on Tuesday afternoon at Spartan Field.
STAC falls to 3-11 overall and 2-7 in NE10 action, while Adelphi improves to 8-5 and 7-2.
Sydney Rossacci tallied a pair of goals for the Panthers, while former Spartan Kelly Johnson and Izzy Leclair also added to the visitors' totals on the scoreboard with a goal apiece. In the cage, Allison Gregory (W, 7-3) got the start for Adelphi and stopped both shots sent her way over three quarters of action. Justina Cavallaro came on in relief in final stanza and also turned aside two shots to earn a shared shutout with her teammate Gregory.
Ailsa Ogilvie (L, 3-10) got the start in the cage for the maroon and gold and made 14 stops on 18 shots.
