Hillburn, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Sprint Football team dropped a 49-13 decision to CSFL North powerhouse and 2023 championship runner up, Army West Point, on Friday evening at the Torne Valley Sports Complex in Rockland County.
STAC falls to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in the CSFL North Division, while Army remains perfect at 3-0 and 1-0 on the year.
STAC HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- Nickolas Simonetta led the way with 11 receptions totaling 115 yards. Simonetta's longest catch went for 30 yards.
- Davion Hicks garnered 9 rushing attempts for 13 total yards.
- Starting quarterback Ryan Kenny completed 19 of 33 passes, for 161 yards and an interception. QB Tynez Harp also saw time under center, going 3-of-8 for 42 yards and a score.
- Ryan Kenny and Jayden Bennermon provided the maroon and gold scoring, with Kenny powering his way to the end zone in the second quarter and Bennermon receiving a pass from Tynez Harp, which took him across the goal line in the fourth stanza.
- Esmond Oldums registered 7 total tackles (4 solo, 3 assist), with one going for a loss. Teammates Dylan Honan (6 solo), Andrew Riley (4 solo, 2 assist) & Ethan Hence (2 solo, 4 assist) followed Oldums' lead, totaling six tackles apiece.
- Brayan Anaman and Joseph DeBellis each forced fumbles during the game, which were recovered by the Spartans defense.
