The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team beat Bridgeport, 3-2 in the first game and ended game two in a 1-1 tie, suspended due to darkness.  Michelle Sasso hit an RBI single in the 13th to score the game winning run for STAC.

Maura Power hit an RBI single in the bottom of the 5th inning to give STAC a 1-0 lead, scoring Kelsey George.  The Purple Knights were able to score a run of their in the next inning off an RBI single from Emma Wojcik.  Bridgeport broke open the 1-1 tie in the 11th inning off an RBI double from Kelly Olencki.  However, STAC would not go away quietly tying the score in the bottom of the 11th with a RBI single from Megan Sweezy. 

Both team were scoreless in the net inning and a half until Sasso's hit in the bottom of the 13th.  Sasso scored Cataldo who reached on an error and was able to come around and score the game winning run. 

Sweezy went 13 innings with 10 strike outs, giving up just 2 runs.  The second game of the day was suspended in the 5th inning due to darkness.  STAC will play Queens on Saturday at 12:00 noon.
