Seniors Andrew Hancsak and Matt Marotta of the St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball team were named East Coast Conference Player-of-the Week and Pitcher-of-the-Week respectively. They led the Spartans to a 2-1 record for the week ending March 4.

Hancsak hit safely in all three of the Spartans' games this week. He was 4-for-12 (.333), with two doubles and four RBI. Hancsak also knocked the game winning hits in the Spartans victories over Adelphi and Bloomfield. The senior also added a stolen base, a run, a walk and a sac bunt.

Marotta pitched a no-hitter against Adelphi in the Spartans' 4-1 win on Sunday. The righty threw six innings and struck out five Panthers while allowing just one unearned run. Marotta also pitched four scoreless innings in relief, striking out three batters to record a save against Bloomfield.
