Senior right-handed pitcher, Matt Marotta of St. Thomas Aquinas College, has been selected as the East Region National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Pitcher of the Week for games played from February 27- March 4, 2012.  

Marotta, the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, pitched a no hitter against Adelphi in the St. Thomas Aquinas’ 4-1 win on Sunday. The righty threw six innings and struck out five Panthers in the no-no. Matt also pitched four innings in relief, giving up no runs and striking out three batters to record a save against Bloomfield in a 6-4 victory for the Spartans earlier in the week.
