The St. Thomas Aquinas moved to 7th place in the NCBWA East Region Ranking, after a 4-3 win over #1 Regionally Ranked Southern New Hampshire this weekend. Senior Matt Marotta picked up the win on the mound for the Spartans going eight innings, giving up 3 hits and striking out seven. Frank Salerno has reached base safely in all 18 of the Spartans games this season and currently has a 12 game hitting streak going.
Pitcher, Joe DePool picked up 3 saves for the Spartans as they went 4-3 this past week. Joe Antenucci is batting .339 for STAC and went 2-for-2 with 2 RBI in the win over SNHU. The Spartans are 11-7 overall and moved up one spot in the poll after last weeks 8th place ranking. The Spartans will host cross town rival Dominican College on Wednesday before traveling to Caldwell College on Thursday. STAC will open conference play with a home double header against Dowling on Saturday at Provident Bank Park.
