Spartans Name 74 Student-Athletes to the 2011 ECC Commissioner's Honor Roll

St. Thomas Aquinas athletic department is proud to name 74 student-athletes to the 2011 East Coast Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.  These students have all participated in their respective sport while maintaining a 3.25 GPA or above.  STAC led the ECC with the highest percentage of it's athletes honored at 43%.

East Coast Conference Commissioner Robert Dranoff is proud to announce the list of 678 student-athletes who were named to the ECC Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2010-2011 academic year. The eight East Coast Conference institutions continue to raise the bar academically, increasing the number of student-athletes honored in previous years.

"Congratulations to all those student-athletes who participated this past year in ECC athletics and to those who represent their institutions and the conference so well in the classroom, the community, as well as in their sport,” said Dranoff. “We are very proud of you!”

C.W. Post led all ECC institutions placing 146 student-athletes on the Honor Roll, which accounts for over 39% of their student-athlete population. Dowling and Molloy followed close behind with 101 and 98 student-athletes, respectively.  Additionally, St. Thomas Aquinas named 43% of their student-athletes to the Honor Roll to lead all ECC institutions by percentage.

The Commissioner’s Honor Roll is awarded to student-athletes who receive a 3.25 GPA or better in a given academic year. This annual recognition, in addition to Scholar-Athlete awards, helps to uphold the East Coast Conference’s mission of promoting the total person and the ability to excel not only in the athletic arena but also in the classroom.
