Bethlehem, Pa. - On Friday, the St. Thomas Aquinas Cross Country program took to the race course in the annual Lehigh University Paul Short Run at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in the Keystone State. The Men's squad took home a 27th place finish, while the women's team posted a 30th place finish in the event.
Pedro Mulero Martinez was the top Spartan finisher on the afternoon with a time of 28:22.1, placing 99th in the men's 8K Green race. Following Mulero Martinez in order of finish were: Ronaldo Rodriguez Perez (28:51.1), William Whitton (29:39.8), Kyle Koenig (30:30.9), Colin Graham (30:33.3), Henry Mascia (32:42.7) Jude Petersen (34:26.8), Daniel Fitzgerald (35:44.5), Leonardo Rosas (35:57.8), Luke Skardinski (38:42.8) and Larsen Sullivan (42:42.4).
Meanwhile, Gianna Mauri was the top STAC finisher on the day with a time of 26:39.3 taking 163rd overall in the women's 6K Green event. Following Mauri in order of finish were: Sophonie Michel (27:40.6), Kristen Kennedy (28:57.3), Abigail Dauterman (29:17.1), Ciara Doyle (29:50.5) and Leilaah Gomez (43:59.4).
The Spartans will next compete at the NJIT Highlander Invitational on Saturday, October 11. The meet takes place at Branch Brook Park in Newark, New Jersey, and will begin with the men's race at 11:15 p.m., followed by the women at 12:00 p.m.
