Kings Park, N.Y. - On Saturday, the St. Thomas Aquinas Cross Country program competed in the East Coast Conference Championships, which were hosted by Queens College at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, New York. STAC's men's squad posted a fourth place finish in the 8K race, while the women's team placed sixth in the 5K race.
For the Men, Ronaldo Rodriguez Perez was the top finisher on the day for the with a time of 28:31.9 (17th place). Following Rodriguez Perez in order of finish were: William Whitton (29:17.0), Pedro Mulero Martinez (29:35.3), Colin Graham (30:03.3), Kyle Koenig (30:22.1), Jude Petersen (33:28.2), Daniel Fitzgerald (34:51.4), Leonardo Rosas (34:56.5), Ian Forsyth (35:10.8), Luke Skardinski (37:34.0) and Jake Mancino (38:06.5).
Meanwhile on the women's side, Sophonie Michel was the top finisher on the morning with a time of 22:16.5 (43rd place). Following Michel in order of finish were: Gianna Mauri (22:34.5), Kristen Kennedy (22:49.9), Ciara Doyle (23:34.7), Abigail Dauterman (25:12.5) and Leilaah Gomez (37:53.5)
STAC next competes at the NCAA Division II East Regional Cross Country Championships, which will be hosted by Franklin Pierce University on November 8 at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
