On Monday, the United States Cross Country and Track & Field Coaches Association released it's annual cross country preseason regional polls. The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Cross Country team will enter the 2022 season ranked #7 in the East Region.

In 2021, the Spartans returned to action after a 22 month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Head Coach Ray Kondracki guided the women's program to a third place finish in the ECC Championships, the same position that they are predicted to finish in this season, as per the conference's coaches poll.

Returning to Sparkill this fall, Ciara Durcan (So./Orangeburg, N.Y.), Sofia Echeverria (Sr./Bardonia, N.Y.), Nicole Gysin (Jr./Waldwick, N.J.), Lesley Marcin (Sr./Hackensack, N.J.), Skylar Moreno (Gr./Congers, N.Y.), Gabriella Mott (Gr./Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and Madison Roth (Sr./Piermont, N.Y.) look to lead their squad to its third ECC Championship in program history (2010, 2012).

Three new faces join a mostly veteran core, as Ciara Doyle (Fr./New City, N.Y./Albertus Magnus H.S.), Samantha Frisbee (Jr./Campbell Hall, N.Y./Washingtonville H.S./Orange County C.C.) and Adrian Schepis (Jr./Pearl River, N.Y./Nanuet H.S.) make their STAC Cross Country debuts this fall.

STAC opens its 2022 season at the SUNY Purchase College Invitational on September 10 in Purchase, N.Y.
