The St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Cross Country team is ranked #7 in the East region in the USTFCCCA poll. The team got off to a great start as they finished 2nd at the Fordham Fiasco/Ed Joyce Memorial at Van Cortlandt Park. The women were lead by sophomores Aida Torpey and Rebecca MacLeod. Torpey finished in 5th place in 19:47 while MacLeod crossed the line just two places later in 20:26. Abagaile Kimbrell had a strong collegiate debut finishing in 8th place in 20:49. Senior Kara Santa Teresa was the next Spartan, covering the 5K course in 22:30. Freshman Mary Elizabeth Dristle (22:32) was the next finisher and rounded out the top five for the team. Rookie Kayla Cobelli ran a personal best 23:48 in her first collegiate competition. Sophomore Grace Carter (24:23) helped the team to secure the 2nd place team finish.
