Spartans Win Highlander Technology Challenge

The St. Thomas Aquinas College men's cross country team took 1st place overall at the NJIT Highlander Technology Challenge.  The team was paced by freshmen Robert Guidicipietro and Jon Gay.

Guidicipietro was the first DII finisher crossing the line in 26:14.  His second place finish overall was his top finish of the 2016 season.  Gay ran another strong race for the Spartans with a time of 26:27 which was good for 4th place overall, another season best.  Junior Vincent Vazquez moved up in the Spartan ranks as the 3rd finisher.  His time of 27:26 earned him a 13th place finish.  Seniors Jamer Linares and Ryan Gasser were the next two finishers for the team in 27:46 and 27:49.  Classmate Campbell Zicchino added to an impressive first cross country season with a 28:13 finish.  Freshman Austin Labbe seasled the deal on the win for the Spartans when he finished at 28:59.

The Spartans return to action on October 22nd at the East Coast Conference Championship hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College.
