The cross country teams traveled to Rochester for the 2016 ECC Championships. The men finished 2nd, a program best, while the women took 3rd place.
Freshman Robert Guidicipietro led the way for the Spartans. He finished in 7th place with a time of 26:34. Classmate Jon Gay finished just two places later at 26:54. Senior Jamer Linares and junior Vincent Vazquezwere thenext two Spartan scorers in 27:40 and 27:43 respectively. Senior Campbell Zicchino continued to show his heart as a first year cross country runner. He rounded out the scorers with a time of 28:16. Freshman Austin Labbe (38:35) and junior Christian Diaz (29:03) secured the 2nd place finish for the team. This is the best finish for the Spatans since joining the East Coast Conference.

Senior Meaghan Ventarola didn't waste any time, getting into the front pack early. She crossed the line in 18:32. Freshman Aida Torpey added to her rookie profile with a personal best 19:16 which was good for 11th place. Senior Katie O'Grady stepped up for the Spartans in the third spot with a time of 20:04. Freshman Rebecca MaLeod was next at 20:21, also a personal best. Junior Kara Santa Teresa was the final scorer for the team, coming in at 20:28. Seniors Jumana Khatib and Angelica Matwiejzcuk added support in the final positioning at 21:33 and 22:06 respectively.
