Spartans Rally Falls Short in Five Set Loss to Queens

Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Volleyball team battled back from a two sets to none deficit to force a thrilling fifth and deciding set on Sunday afternoon against Queens College, but the visiting Knights powered through to take a 3-2 decision over the maroon and gold at the Spartan Athletic Complex in Rockland County.

STAC falls to 4-14 overall and 1-5 in ECC action, while Queens moves to 8-13 and 1-5.

The Spartans and Knights went the distance, as Queens took the first two sets before STAC righted the ship and rallied for two straight victories of their own to tie the match at 2-2. However, the visitors would eventually go on to win the day by the narrowest of margins in fifth set.
