Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to ECC preseason favorites, Mercy University, on Wednesday evening at the Spartan Athletic Complex in Rockland County.

STAC falls to 3-9 overall and 0-2 in conference play, while Mercy improves to 6-2 and 2-0.

How it Happened

  • As a team, Mercy recorded 37 kills compared to St. Thomas Aquinas' 24. The Mavericks also had 9 blocks and 36 assists, while the Spartans tallied 1 block and 24 assists.
  • Mercy outhit STAC by a .284 to .033 margin for the match.
  • Adriana Zarceno paced the Spartans' offense with a team-high eight kills, along with a service ace, three digs and a block assist.
