STAC Women's Volleyball Scores Thrilling Five-Set Victory over Felician in 2025 Home Opener

Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Volleyball team opened the home portion of their 2025 schedule on Wednesday evening against Felician University at the Spartan Athletic Complex.

In his third match at the helm of the Spartans, Head Coach Nicholas Basco helped to guide his team to a thrilling 3-2, five-set victory over the Golden Falcons, earning his first collegiate coaching victory in the process.

STAC moves to 1-2 on the young season, while Felician slips to 1-3.

The Spartans and Golden Falcons instant classic went the distance, as STAC took the first set in narrow fashion, before Felician righted the ship and rallied to tie the match. A helter skelter third set also went to the visitors from New Jersey. However, the maroon and gold battled to send the contest to a deciding fifth set with a strong fourth stanza.
