Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Volleyball team battled to a thrilling fifth and deciding set on Saturday afternoon against Daemen University, but the visiting Wildcats powered through to take a 3-2 decision over the maroon and gold at the Spartan Athletic Complex in Rockland County.
STAC slips to 3-12 overall and 0-3 in ECC action, while Daemen moves to 7-10 and 3-1.
The Spartans and Wildcats went the distance, as Daemen took the first set before STAC righted the ship and rallied for two straight victories of their own to take a 2-1 advantage. However the visitors from Western New York would go on to tie the match in set four and then eventually win the day by the narrowest of margins in fifth set.

- As a team, Daemen recorded 60 kills compared to St. Thomas Aquinas' 59. The Wildcats also had 11 blocks and 54 assists, while the Spartans tallied 3 blocks and 56 assists.
- Daemen outhit STAC by a .239 to .226 margin for the match.
- Adriana Zarceno paced the Spartans offense with a match-high 27 kills. She also registered two service aces and nine digs.
- Anna Gazzerro tallied a match-high 50 serve assists (10.0 assists/set). Gazzerro also accumulated a service ace, 13 digs and a block assist for the maroon and gold.
- Kamila Zoe Rosa picked up nine kills, three digs and two block assists in the match.
- Laura Rojas Gomez racked up eight kills, four service aces, six digs and a block assist.
- Natassia Romanoff accumulated eight kills and a dig against the Wildcats.
- Boglarka Kiss contributed four serve assists, four service aces and a match-high 21 digs.
