Philadelphia, Pa. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis team wrapped up their regular season road schedule on Thursday, falling to No. 40 ITA Division II nationally ranked Jefferson University, 6-1, at the Abraham J. Salaman '58 Tennis Courts in the City of Brotherly Love.
STAC slips to 6-8 on the year, while Jefferson improves to 17-6.
Doubles
STAC saw the host Rams take two-of-three doubles competitions to earn the first team point of the match. The Spartan's lone triumph came at No. 2, where Mar Caneves Bufi & Shreethika Vangala, beat Alycia Veroux & Emily Frost, 6-4.
Singles
In singles play, Jefferson won the first five bouts to clinch total victory, with St. Thomas Aquinas taking the final matchup at No. 1 as Kateryna Kryuchkova took down Anouk Oderkerk in a third set tie break, 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (3).
