St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis athlete Anaya Brons has been named the East Coast Conference Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, following the Spartans 3-0 week on the court, which included victories over West Chester University (Pa.) (7-0), University of the District of Columbia (6-1) and Post University (7-0).

Brons (Utrecht, Netherlands) went 4-1 in STAC’s trio of victories over opponents West Chester, District of Columbia, and Post last week. The STAC freshman teamed up with Kathryn Kryuchkova at No. 2 doubles, falling to the Firebirds Celia Bastin and Claudia Bahamon Lopez, 6-3, before defeating the Eagles Annelein Van Urk and Melanie Leussink, 6-0. At No. 1 singles, the rookie held her own with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph over West Chester's Delaney Tingle, a 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 victory against UDC's Desire Parn, and a 6-2, 6-0 win versus Post's Megan Lombardt.
