Sparkill, N.Y. - On Thursday, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its latest Men's and Women's National polls, with both St. Thomas Aquinas College teams maintaining spots in the top 40 among Division II teams.
On the men's side, the Spartans were ranked #29 in the nation and are the only team from the East Coast Conference to make the poll. STAC currently holds a 9-2 record with victories over Jefferson, U. Sciences, West Chester, Saint Michael's, Manhattanville, Adelphi, Edinboro, Quincy, and Bentley. The team's only blemishes comes via Division I Fairleigh Dickinson and Rockhurst.
Meanwhile, the women's squad received the #39 position in the national rankings, with the University of the District of Columbia joining the Lady Spartans as the other ECC team to make the poll, at #15. STAC currently holds a 13-2 record with victories over New Haven, Jefferson, Le Moyne, Daemen, D'Youville, Queens, Dominican, West Chester, Molloy Edinboro, Quincy, Rockhurst and Bentley. The team's only defeats come at the hands of UDC in the regular season and Queens College in the ECC Tournament.
