Women's Soccer Closes Season with 3-1 Senior Day Setback to Wilmington (Del.)

Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team closed out their 2025 campaign on Sunday afternoon, falling to Wilmington University (Del.), 3-1, at Spartan Field.

STAC finishes at 1-11-3 overall and 1-5-1 in conference play, while Wilmington improves to 8-2-6 and 4-1-5 in the CACC, but advances to their upcoming Women's Soccer postseason tournament next week.

Prior to the contest, the Spartans honored their graduating senior class; Ashley Argento, Larymar Herrera, Lilly Lawson, Haley Liss, Kaitlyn Maguire, Katie Neilson, Madison Powers, Sarai Rodriguez and Heidi Torre with on-field ceremonies, which included the athletes' families, friends, teammates, coaches and college administrators.

Once the pregame festivities concluded, Evelyn Payne, Eboni Bradshaw and Ashante Wilson-Campbell scored a goal apiece for the Wildcats. In between the sticks, goalkeeper Arianna Myers (W, 7-2-5) got the start and turned aside all four shots faced in first half action, with teammate Isabella Mazzone allowing a goal on six shots during the second stanza.

Meanwhile, Heidi Torre scored the lone goal for the Spartans with the assist credited to Amelia Hammond. Keeper Haley Liss (L, 0-1-0) made nine stops on ten shots in the first 45 minutes of play, as Madison Lepage saw action in the second frame and made three saves on five shots faced.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • Wilmington outshot St. Thomas Aquinas, 24-17 with the Wildcats putting the ball on frame 16 times and the Spartans reaching the goal 11 times.
  • Wilmington earned a slim 4-1 advantage on corner kicks over STAC.
