Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with Goldey-Beacom College on Wednesday afternoon at Spartan Field.
STAC moves to 0-8-1 on the year, while Goldey-Beacom goes to 2-5-3.
The Spartans received second half scoring from Sarai Rodriguez, while goalkeepers Haley Liss and Elizabeth Glover (T, 0-0-1) played a half apiece with Liss making three stops on four total shots and Glover turning aside one shot propelled her way.
Meanwhile, Lexy Yeager tallied a goal for the Lightning in the opening half, as keeper Malaika Nunziata (T, 2-3-3) stopped 6 of 7 shots sent in her direction.
HOW IT HAPPENED
8th Minute: An offensive rush by Goldey-Beacom allowed Ryley Dixon to drop a pass back to teammate Lexy Yeager for the blast past a diving Haley Liss to give the Lightning a 1-0 lead.
67th Minute: Ninni Ringstad sent through ball to a breaking Sarai Rodriguez for a soft shot under goalie Malaika Nunziata and to the back of the net to even the score at 1-1.
