Sparkill, N.Y. – On Thursday, the East Coast Conference announced the results of its Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll, with St. Thomas Aquinas College picked to finish fifth in the league's standings.
The Spartans posted a 4-9 record (2-4 ECC) in 2022 and will return seven players from last year's squad.
Second year head coach Genesis Pachecho has added a mix of upperclassmen and freshman for the upcoming campaign. Annavictoria Mazariegos (Jr./Slate Hill, N.Y.), Flaminia Maria Valci (Gr./Rome Italy), Leah Kingsley (So./Brooklyn, N.Y.), Katelyn Cerrato (So./Mohegan Lake, N.Y.), Briana Meuse (So./Thornwood, N.Y.), Rachael Paraskos (Fr./Ossipee, N.H.) and Arianna Tribble (Fr./Ridge, N.Y.) make up the new faces who will bring their skills and talents to Sparkill for the new season.
St. Thomas Aquinas will battle ECC Champs Mercy College, along with Roberts Wesleyan University, Molloy University, D'Youville University, Daemen University and the University of the District of Columbia for the right to be called ECC Women's Lacrosse Champion. The teams will only play each other once in the regular season.
The action gets underway for the Spartans on Saturday, February 18 (11:30 a.m.) against non-conference opponent Wilmington University (Del.) at Spartan Field.
