Women's Bowling Opens 2021 Season at Wagner College Seahawks Invite
The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Bowling team kicked off their 2021 season at the Wagner College Seahawks Invite. The event, which took place Rab’s Country Lanes in Staten Island, NY, featured the Spartans, along with Wagner College, Mount St. Mary's University and Long Island University. Megan Dobrinski led the way for STAC in the traditional matches shooting games of 182, 185 and 198. 
 
The first match of the day went down to the wire with the Wagner Seahawks, but the Spartans fell 10 pins short, losing 799 to 789.
 
In the second contest, STAC faced Mount St. Mary's and just couldn’t overcome their hot start. The Spartans fell by a total of 231 pins, 912-681.
 
The third and final traditional match featured the Spartans taking on Long Island University. The Sharks jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, as they defeated the Spartans 910-700.
 
In the Baker Match portion of the event, STAC faced Wagner College once again. After a team score of 191 in the second baker game, the Spartans held a 50 pin lead, but couldn’t hold on in the end, as the Seahawks went on to beat St. Thomas Aquinas, 885-735. STAC also fell to Mount St. Mary's, 914-647.
 
St. Thomas Aquinas College will next be in action on Sunday, February 21 at the Bloomfield College Invite.
