Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Basketball team closed its 2025-26 regular season schedule in disappointing fashion on Saturday, dropping 73-47 road decision to Mercy University at the Neil Judge Athletic Center.
STAC finishes the year at 8-20 overall and 5-11 within the ECC, missing the postseason for a second straight season. Meanwhile, Mercy improves to 21-6 and 15-1, and now prepares for the upcoming East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Tournament.
Bailey Chapman led the maroon and gold offense with 11 points, as Toni Schuetze (10 points) also scored in double figures. Meanwhile, Grace Lesko led all Mavericks players in scoring with 30 points.
STAC shot 37.3 percent (37.3) from the field, while Mercy shot 51.0 percent (26-51) from the floor.
STAC NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Seven Spartans logged double-digit minutes in the contest.
- Bailey Chapman, Cassidy Mahaney and Toni Schuetze led the maroon and gold with two assists apiece on the afternoon.
- Chapman hit 5 of her 10 field goal attempts with Schuetze going 3-for-9 from the field, 2-of-6 from three and 2-of-4 from the charity stripe.
- STAC and Mercy grabbed 31 rebounds apiece, with Toni Schuetze and Angela Williams grabbing a team-high five boards each for the Spartans.

- Mercy picked up nine steals, with the Spartans turning the ball over on 23 separate occasions.
