Sparkill, N.Y. - A barrage of three pointers by visiting Holy Family University, sank the St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Basketball team, 79-53, at Aquinas Hall Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.
STAC slips to 1-3 on the young season, while Holy Family remains perfect, moving to 5-0 on the year.
Spartans Syrita Faraj and Cassidy Mahaney led maroon and gold offense with 12 points apiece, while Bailey Chapman also scored in double figures with 10 points. Jessica Riepe led all scorers, dropping 26 points for the visiting Tigers.
St. Thomas Aquinas shot 34.5 percent from the field (19-55), while Holy Family shot 41.4 percent (24-58) from the floor and 48.6 percent (17-35) from beyond the arc.
STAC NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS:

- Riepe went 9-for-12 from the floor and 8-of-10 from three, with Meredith hitting 5 of her 9 field goal attempts and all five sailing through the nets from beyond the arc.
- Lauren Palangio grabbed a team-high seven boards for the Tigers.
- Holy Family picked up four steals, with the Spartans turning the ball over on 15 separate occasions.
