St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Basketball player Erin Leary was named the East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans 3-0 week on the hardwood, where they defeated Pace University (69-54), Queens College (60-50) and Molloy Universtiy 59-43 last week.

Leary (Carle Place, N.Y.) led the Spartans on the defensive end of the floor, compiling 31 rebounds, three steals, and three blocked shots over three games. The sophomore forward posted 13 rebounds, two steals, and one block against the Setters, then picked up 14 rebounds versus the Knights, before recording four rebounds, one steal, and two blocked shots against the Lions. She also recorded 22, 20 and nine-point games against her opponents.

STAC (14-5, 6-2 ECC) hosts the University of the District of Columbia in key conference matchup at Aquinas Hall on Wednesday, January 25 at 5:30 p.m.
