STAC Track & Field Competes in Prestigious Penn Relays
Philadelphia, Pa. - On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Track & Field program participated in the 2026 Penn Relays at the historic Franklin Field. The Spartans sent its best and brightest stars to the City of Brotherly Love for both track and field events over three days in Philadelphia.
 
Among the outstanding performances for the maroon and gold were the top 20 finishes of Victoria Maher, who placed 12th in the discus (44.70m) and 14th in the hammer throw (51.18m). Both marks are personal bests for Maher and currently rank first in the East Coast Conference.
 
The Men's 4x100 Meter Relay team of Maurice Douglas, Leelan Maxwell, Egill Atlason and Darwin Almonte placed sixth with a time of 42.65, while the Women's 4x400 CTC squad of Aalianne Gilbert, Yulessa Johnson, Sophonie Michel and Ciara Doyle finished ninth in a time of 4:26.82
 
STAC returns to action on Thursday, April 30 (9:00 a.m.) at the East Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The postseason meet is hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University on the Redhawks campus in Rochester, N.Y.
