St. Thomas Aquinas College's Darwin Almonte was named the East Coast Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday following the Spartans latest meet, which was hosted by the maroon and gold last week at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.

Almonte (Haverstraw, N.Y.) took second place in the 60 meter hurdles (8.24) and third in the 200 meter dash (21.93) at the 2026 Spartan Invitational. Both marks were the fastest times recorded by an ECC athlete.

STAC returns to action on Friday, January 16, as the Spartans travel to the 168th Street Armory for the Ramapo College Opener. Events begin at 9:00 a.m. in New York City.
