Middletown, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Track and Field team kicked off its 2025-2026 campaign with an early season meet at the 12th Rock Throws Series in Orange County, New York.
Members of the Spartans Throws team took to the cage on Saturday with the focus on continuting preparations for their first full scale meet in early December.
Top finishers on the day included; Gavin Kopf finishing first in the Discus with a throw of 41.16 meters (135'0") and second in the Men's Shot Put with a toss of 14.43 meters (47'4.25"), while teammate Ayanie Thomas placed first in the Women's Shot Put with a hurl of 9.30 meters (30'6.25") and second in the Discus with a launch of 27.28 meters (89'6").
STAC returns to action on Friday, December 5 at the FastTrack Season Opener, which will be contested at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
