Ewing, N.J. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's and Women's Track & Field teams continued their spectacular spring season on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at The College of New Jersey Invitational.
Headlining the outstanding performances for the Men's squad over the three-day event were Emmanuel Mena Jimenez's first place finishes in both the Discus (51.94m) and Hammer Throw (62.75m) events and a fourth place finish in the Shot Put (14.47m). Additionally, Mena Jimenez's Discus and Hammer tosses fall within NCAA Division II Provisional marks. Pedro Mulero Martinez also set a new school record as the first-ever Spartan to complete the Decathlon, compiling 5189 total points to finish third overall.
On the women's side of the ledger, Zoe Merryman finished first in the 800 Meter Run, clocking in with a time of 2:22.43.
STAC next competes in the East Stroudsburg University All-American Meet on Friday, April 18 at Gregory-Douds Field at Eiler-Martin Stadium in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
