St. Thomas Aquinas College's DeAndre Smith was named the East Coast Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on Monday, after the Spartans participated in the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational last Friday and Saturday in West Long Branch, N.J.
DeAndre Smith finished first in the High Jump at the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational. The senior from Brentwood, N.Y. recorded a leap of 2.05m (6'8.75"), which hit the NCAA Division II provisional mark.
STAC next returns to action at the East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, which take place on Saturday, February 26 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. Events are scheduled to get underway at 9:00 a.m. on Staten Island.
