The NCAA Division II Festival started on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 with the opening Ceremonies at the Birmingham, Alabama Theatre with some of the best athletes in Track, Wrestling, and Swimming & Diving. St. Thomas Aquinas College will be represented by Winslow Dorsainvil and St. Jacob Diodonet.
Dorsainvil, making his 4th Indoor Track Championship in the 60 meter dash, after running a blazing 6.76 this year was ranked 7th in the country. That mark earned him a 4th All-Region Award as well as a new school record. Dorsainvil also won his 4th consecutive 1st Team All-Conference in the 60 meters.
St. Jacob Diodonet is making his second consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships in the 400 where he ran ran 47.38 this year and is currently ranked 5th in the event. Diodonet received All-Region Awards for the 60 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters and was part of the Spartans 4x400 team that was also All-Region. Diodonet was 1st Team All-Conference in the 200, 400 and 4x400 as well 2nd Team All-Conference in the 60.
Winslow Dorsainvil will be competing on Thursday, March 9th in the 60m at 5pm Eastern standard time (4pm CT).
St. Jacob Diodonet will also be competing on Thursday in the 400m at 6:20pm Eastern standard time (5:20pm CT).
