The Spartan Track & Field Team was back at the Ocean Breeze Facility for the Gotham Cup this weekend. St. Jacob Diodonet stole the show recording the 3rd fastest time in the country in the 400m.
Winslow Dorsainvil started the day off by running 6.91 in the 60 meters which took 5th overall in the meet and he was the top Division II runner in the event. Not to be outdone Saint Jacob Diodonet ran 47.38 in the 400 meters which is currently the 3rd fastest time in the country in Division II and was the top collegiate 400 meter runner at the Gotham Cup. Diodonet then came back and ran 21.94 in the 200 which was the fastest Division II time at the meet and was 8th overall. The Men's 4x400 team of Ludugni Desrosiers, Mich Philistin, Frankie Schiavone and Ricardo Reid took 6th overall in a time of 3:26.75.
On the women's side Kristen Borriello and Aida Torpey placed 13th and 16th in the 3000 meters and were the top Division II finishers in the event. Borriello ran a time of 10:37.26 and Torpey ran a time of 11:04. Victoria Jones-Alleyne took 7th overall in the triple jump with a jump of 11.42m (37'5.75).
The Spartans and Lady Spartans next compete at the Terrier Classic in Boston.
