Spartan Track & Field Compete at Molloy College Invite

The St. Thomas Aquinas track & field team competed at the Molloy College Lions Invite on Friday evening.  The event was a good warm up for the East Coast Conference Championship on February 26th at the Ocean Breeze Facility.  

On the men's side of things, Winslow Dorsainvil won the 60 meters in a time of 6.87 and took 5th in the 200 with a time of 23.02.  Saint-Jacob Diodonet won the 200 and 400 at the Molloy College Invite in a time of 22.66 and 49.55.  Vinny Vazquez took 8th in the 800 with a time of 2:03.30 on the flat track. 

In the men's mile, Joe Lipari ran 4:46.81 to take a 7th place finish overall.  Jamer Linares took 7th in the 5000 with a time of 17:14.63.  The men's DMR took 2nd overall with its fastest time of the year, the team of Ryan Gasser, Dylan Destler, Frankie Schiavone and Vinny Vazquez clocked in at 10:51.67.

On the field events side Tristan Holmgren took 3rd overall with a jump of 1.90m (6'2.75).  

For the women, Gabby Sloezen took 3rd in the 200 with a time of 26.64 and she took 2nd in the 400 with a time of 59.18.  Tiana Kirkland took 7th in the 200 with a time of 27.18.  Kristen Borriello took 3rd in the mile with a time of 5:22.80 and Katie O'Grady took 7th in the mile with a time of 5:39.69.

The women's 4x800 took second in a time of 10:32.85, the team of Kristen Borriello, Kara Santa Teresa, Angelica Matwiejczuk and Meaghan Jaskot (making her Spartan Debut coming off injury).  Molly Connor took 5th in the Triple Jump with a Jump of 10.25 and Breanna Lyn took 6th in a jump of 10.14.  Katherine Mollahan took 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 10.98 meters.

The Spartans and Lady Spartans Next Compete at the ECC Indoor Championships on February 26th 2016 at the Ocean Breeze Facility in Staten Island.  The meet starts at 5 P.M. please come and support our team if you can come to the meet.
