As we are getting a blizzard up in New York now the Spartans and Lady Spartans were able to beat out the blizzard and compete on Friday night at the Gotham Cup at the Staten Island Facility with some of the top Division I, II,III and unattached runners in the country.
Saint-Jacob Diodonet, freshman from West Millford, kept his stellar season alive where he broke the school record inthe 400 and ran a time of 48.01. With that time he was able to take 3rd overall and was the top Division II 400 runner at the meet. That time also puts him currently at number 6 in the county in the 400. Winslow Dorsainvil took 9th overall in the 60 in a time of 6.91 and was also the top Division II competitor in the event.
Meaghan Ventarola is keeping up her strong season as well where she broke the school record in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:24.30. Molly Connor also had a good day where she broke the school record in the hurdles with a time of 10.19. Gabby Sloezen also ran an outstanding time in the 400 where she ran 58.23 and finished 17th overall out of 90 competitors.

Next week the Spartans and Lady Spartans will be competing at the Terrier Classic at the BU Track and Field Center. This will be a Friday and Saturday event.
