The USTFCCCA has announced the 2014 Indoor Track & Field All-Region honorees. STAC earned 4 awards for stellar performances this season. Senior mid-distance runner Allison Borriello got the nod in the 800m for the Lady Spartans. Winslow Dorsainvil (60m), George Erazo (200m) and Tristan Holmgren (High Jump) were honored for the Spartans in their respective events.
Borriello ran a personal best and Lady Spartan school record in the 800m in a time of 2:16.69 at the Last Chance Meet at Boston University. She is currently ranked 69th in the country in Division II in the 800. This is the best ranking for a female runner at STAC. She is also the first Lady Spartan to hit a pre-qualifying national time in her event. Borriello was also named to the ECC All-Conference First Team.
Redshirt freshmen standout Dorsaivil has qualified for the NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field National Championship in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is currently ranked 14th in the nation in the 60 meter dash and 1st in the East Region. Dorsianvil will will run in the preliminaries of the 60 at 4:10 on Friday. Winslow has quite a resume after an impressive rookie campaign. He holds the St. Thomas Aquinas 60 meter record in a time 6.79. He has been named All-Conference and All-CTC in this event as well as All-Conference in the 60 meters, 200 meters and 4x200 relay for the East Coast Conference.
Erazo, the Men’s Most Outstanding Athlete of the 2014 ECC Championship and the 2013 ECC Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year continues to add to his collegiate resume. He finishes ranked 40th in the nation and 3rd in the East Region in the 200. Erazo also earned First Team All-Conference honors in the 200m, 400m, 4x200 Relay, 4x400 Relay and Second Team All-Conference honors in the 60 meter dash.
Holmgren, in his Rookie season at STAC earned All-Region honors in the High Jump. He was also a All-Conference First Team selection. He ranked 5th in the region in his first year with the Spartan Track & Field program.
